Dr. Oetker Queen Australia and Foodbank united against hunger
One in six adults and a total of 1.2 million children in Australia did not have enough to eat last year. Dr. Oetker Queen Australia supports the aid organization Foodbank Victoria with food donations to alleviate the situation.
Foodbank, Australia's largest food charity, has been providing food to those in need since 1930. The nonprofit organization works with 2,950 charities and 2,890 school breakfast programs across Australia to deliver over 87.9 million meals each year to those in need of help and support.
Pizzas and baked products were donated
The Dr. Oetker Queen Australia team is proud to play a small part in supporting Foodbank Victoria’s important work for the local community. In 2021, the team donated 5000 pizzas and 3000 packages of bakery products, which Foodbank distributed to over 168 charities.
Important help from the food industry
Foodbank teams at the national and state-level work with the entire Australian food industry, including farmers, wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers, to source food and collect donations. When it comes to distributing the food, Foodbank is supported by countless volunteers in each state to collect, pack and deliver food to where it is needed.
