Promoting the education and training of young people is very important to us.
Dr. Oetker is strongly committed to promoting education and training for young people at all its locations. In cooperation with various regional schools and universities, the company supports schoolchildren and students in career orientation and preparation and pursues, among other things, the goal of arousing and developing interest in scientific and other fields of knowledge.
Our annual open training day gives students in grades 8 to 13 from all types of schools a lively and practical insight into the company's diverse training opportunities. We also support students in starting their careers by working together with various universities within the framework of several training-integrated courses.
At its German locations Dr. Oetker works closely with schools and other institutions for education and training. Various events and programs bring students closer to working life. These include, for example, career counseling, application training, excursions to the company and the organization of a training fair.
Our commitment at the Wittenburg location also shows how networked companies and regions work together in the field of education and vocational education and training. In 2014 Dr. Oetker founded the association "Food Academy - Competencies for the Food Industry" together with other regional companies in the food industry and the Southwest Mecklenburg Business Development Agency. The aim is to inspire specialists for the food industry in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the long term.
In line with its social responsibility, Dr. Oetker is active in the area of youth training for the association BAJ e.V. (BAJ = Vocational training and qualification of young people and adults / Berufliche Ausbildung und Qualifizierung Jugendlicher und Erwachsener) in Bielefeld. Together with the Employment Agency, Dr. Oetker and the association are pursuing the goal of highlighting professional perspectives to students from the district of Ostwestfalen-Lippe and preparing them to embark on their careers in accordance with their fields of interest, thereby gaining additional potential for the economy. In line with the cooperation that has existed since 2012, BAJ e.V. participants are given application training and are offered taster afternoons and practical days. This allows them to learn more about the job profile of a specialist in food technology (FaLet) at the company. Since the beginning of the cooperation an exchange between teachers and trainers has proven to be both useful and effective.
